RIP CLEM BURKE BLONDIE DRUMMER

This loss hurts. RIP CLEM. Thanks for the excellent rhythm in Blondies songs

R.I.P.

Despite decades as a revered rock star, Burke remained humble in recent years. “My idea of success was … I used to buy all my records in Woolworth’s cutout bins,” Burke told Please Kill Me. “My version of success was winding up in the cutout bin.”

I saw them on PBS about 10 years ago.

Still had it, and had a new song that was pretty good.

Didn't the key player die a couple of years ago?

Isn't "Clem" kind of an odd name for someone in a new wave band?

RIP.

There’s a live show of them at The Apollo on YouTube, must be early 80’s. It’s a really good show, even though a little after they moved more to pop.

Legend has it that when Keith Moon passed, Clem kicked over his drum kit and proclaimed "That's for Keith Moon, the greatest drummer in the world!"
