Let's also remember him as a very funny comedic man along with his fighting skills!!! Great spokesman for his grill as I at one time had one and it was a very good appliance. He will be missed...RIP Champ...cr8crshr/Bill:praying::praying::praying::usflag::usflag::usflag:

I used to live in Elysian Fields, TX and work in Marshall. George lived out that way and would be spotted in Marshall often. There was one restaurant in particular that he used to frequent. He always seemed to be kind a gracious to fans, he wasn't ever rude to people that I saw, even when they were clearly invading his space/privacy. He seemed to me to be a genuinely nice guy, a rarity for celebrities.

Dang, bummer to hear this.
Always saw him as a great guy and a legend in the sport.
RIP George

Yea I liked George, personable guy, Olympics gold medalist
he was a character, sometime pretty funny

RIP George

I remember seeing him & Ali fight at the drive in theater, in Antioch Ca.

I remember watching this live and rooting for him…it was tough because he was losing every round on points and then…BOOM! :D

RIP George. He seemed like a really good person and being one of the boxing greats was just a bonus.
