RIP Lee Iacocca

R.I.P.

I did a high school report on him, was very interesting to read all of what that man accomplished.

RIP.

"If you can find a better built, better backed car, BUY IT."
People love to tease about the K cars and Minivans but they paid a LOT of salaries for the old Chrysler organization.

Don't laugh. My 1991 LeBaron travelled 174k miles. Two convertible tops, one transmission, and no other major problems. I place it on my better cars I've owned list.

Iacocca would have been a great president.

I'm happy he didn't live to see the end of Chrysler like we will witness. Rest in peace.

...and those 2 other American car manufacturers didn't have anything to crow about IMO.

Ugh, the 1980s car offerings.

They actually were not bad cars. They were reliable and cheap. I sold new cars in 1985 at a few dealerships...I worked at Sunrise Chrysler Plymouth in the Summer of 1985.
I'm no fan of front wheel drive but they did sell better than the Aspen and Volare!

Had them for work for years and years. White with red velour.

Sorry, back on track. A great man. R.I.P.

I agree had a neighbor with an aspen every time we see him we'd say hey how's your Aspen thing lasted as long as I can remember never saw him working on it

Much as I don't care about them, he was instrumental in the mustang's development also...maybe thee most popular American car of all time? First real driving experience was sneaking mom's reliant-K out with my buddies at 15....
RIP

We snuck out the 65 Mustang on Long Beach Island, NJ. 6 Cylinder, 3 speed on the floor. No power steering. Got it back without a wreck. That was in 69.

RIP old friend.
I wrenched at Cal Worthington Dodge Huntington Beach in 1988.
I think I could do a 2.2 timing belt in my sleep. "it gets easy after the first hundred"
>mechanic quote of the day.....thanks.
