Road Runner hood questions

Hello, I have some questions about different Road Runner hood versions.
A friend of mine offers me a RR only metal hood, but there is no cut out for the air intake. Is this an original hood?
If yes, where does it come from? Is it from a small engine, only for show?
And one more question about these hoods. Some of the inserts opening is straight to heaven (180°) and some I have seen with the opening in 90° to the hood.
Does this depend on the year or engine or what is the reason?

Are you talking about a 1968-69 Road Runner hood?

The '68 hood has the 90* facing "opening". The '69 is straight up. Neither of those stock hoods had real openings for fresh air, that was a special package, I think only for '69 & later, not '68. Others will know for sure about the fresh air setup.

1969 had two types IIRC, one open with a mesh grille and one closed. The open one came on the cars with the fresh air boxes on their intakes.

As I recall also, with the fresh air box being fairly rare.

'69 hood with functional hood louvers aka "Air Grabber". The screens were red from the factory.

Here is the non functional "solid" version. They were black.

And here is the side facing '68's. They were all solid and non-functional.

Yep, Ranger is right. '69 hoods straight up in the air & they're all the same. No air-grabber got blocked off hood inserts & air grabber (same hood) got the vents, the fiberglass air box, cables, air cleaner, etc. You can turn any '69 Roadrunner/GTX hood into an air grabber. The '68 is at an angle and there is not an air grabber option.
