I just got my speedometer connected to the transmission for the first time. I have a new cable and a new calibrated-(tire size/gear ratio) gear installed inside the transmission. Only problem is the hand on the speedometer is flaying wildly resembling a corrupt politician wired to a lie detector test. Are there any adjustments on the speedometer to maybe bring a little tension to the needle to calm it down a bit? Any ideas as to what the problem could be?

It sounds as though your speedo head needs attention. This can be from lack of lubrication on the input gear or a pointer weak spring.
Either way, the speedo head has to come out.

Thanks Eddie! If it is the pointer spring, is it a big deal to find one and change it out?

The spring is very sensitive, so if this is your first time doing this, then I would send the head out to someone like Bob's speedometer in Mich who will guarantee its workings and calibration.

Sounds like great advice.. Thanks for your correspondence Eddie!
