rock act i regret not seeing…

Being born in '72 there's a long list of acts I wish I could've seen....but I was fortunate to have my fill working for IATSE through the 90s/ and early 2000s and my uncle and his buddy took me to several heavy duty concerts (probably before I really should have been exposed to that stuff lol)...my first was Priest in '84 (Defenders of the Faith tour) at the tender young age of 11 and I never recovered!

Since my music "awareness" originated in the early 60's, Another band I wish I'd seen in their prime, The Four Seasons. Before my time, it would've been Buddy Holly & the Crickets.

I would have also liked to have seen Super Tramp in concert
And also it would have been cool to see Leon Russell in concert.

Aerosmith. Had tickets to see them in Cleveland but Tyler fell off the stage in Sturgis and the concert never happened.

Petty. Never had the chance to see him. Was in Cleveland at the R&R hall of fame and as we were cashing out with our memorabilia the cashier said Petty was starting his set. I had no idea he was there. Damn. Probably had no chance to get tickets anyway. That was his final tour.

Jethro Tull was very good live..... a very under rated band imo..... another one of my favorites

Saw them from Row 7. Great show.

One of my other hobbies is going to concerts, though not so much any more. There is hardly anyone worth seeing.

I have seen over 100 top acts.... and the one I regret missing is Stevie Ray Vaughn :(

There ya go, perfect answer for me also. I'd also like to have seen Storyville and the ARC Angels (where SRV's band
Double Trouble went after he passed). ARC Angels: Doyle Bramhall II and Charlie Sexton, along with Chris Layton, Tommy Shannon
and Reese Wynans, WOW what a lineup!
I'd love to have seen Alison Krause and Union Station when Dan Tyminski was with them, too.
I was fortunate enough to see all my old hard rock/metal favorites back in the day, but I love about anything played by
actual talented humans on actual musical instruments and sung well without use of autotune and such.
If they can't play it well live on stage, I got no use for it.

Allison Krause and union station played at Merriweather which is local and we have seen many shows there over the years.
She was boring, we left
I am a big fan of bluegrass and have seen many acts as the DC metro area was a hotbed of the genre.
But I will not bother to see her again
Shame because she can sing.

so we have talked about the best , or favorite rock and roll act . what band do you wish you had a chance to see live but didn’t ? top of my list is pink floyd . i have been a fan before i was a teen . also regret not seeing led zeppelin, and elton john who in my older years have grown to appreciate.
Below is a partial list of groups I have worked with technically in concert prior to 1987, when I stopped counting. My main professional passion is audio. In late 1987 I was supplying/operating main generator power for Pink Floyd at the Orange Bowl in Miami. When operating generators at a concert, it's relatively a boring job during the actual concert, unless of course something goes awry. During this Pink Floyd concert, I wandered out front to give a listen, it started raining. The show did not stop, which was rather surprising. I have worked many thousands of concerts. That show had the best audio I have yet to witness to this day. It was an awesome mix and quality. I don't know what the magic was that I heard that night, but I never forgot it. Frank Sinatra who I really don't like made my hair on my skin stand up with his commanding stage presence. Bob Marley on stage just had an awe-inspiring vibe. Three Dog Night had a message. Neil Young was powerful onstage. Guess Who was fun. Anthrax was loud. Dickie Betts owned the guitar. Police were professional. Jimmie Buffet became a bit arrogant. Roy Orbison had a voice on stage that was incredible.

Eagles he’ll freezes over was pretty good in St. Louis years ago, I missed the Stones I wish I wouldn’t have, besides Keith still has 9 lives right?

i’m in same situation. concerts was also a hobby of mine , years ago . saw many acts it was great fun . but getting older now , most my favs are getting real old . i’m not so much a crowd lover so unless it’s an attractive location i usually pass on live stuff .

Not necessarily the act/band but a concert I wish I had attended.
- Heart (all original)played a show in San Diego in '76 where it is was around $3.50 for admission.
- Stones in 1971 (too young)
- Grand Funk in 1970 (finally saw them in 1999)
- Pink Floyd - DSOTM tour, saw them on the Animals and Delicate Sound tours
- Genesis with Peter Gabriel - Lamb tour with Bill Bruford
- UK - any tour

Van Halen leads my list. Rush would be another high up on it. I would have liked to have seen The Who in their heyday, too.

One of my favorites. Stevie Woodwind as well. Moody Blues was always a great show and they always did an outdoors amphitheater. Seen them 4 times. Hendrix played in Lewiston ME when I was like 6. Watched Steven Tyler pass out on the stage a couple times. Saw the WHO an Clapton in San Diego, wife slept through the WHO show, Too much wine..

Today, I really like a lot of current stuff. Would love to see Smashing Pumpkins live or AC/DC.
