What's the story with these, do they have studs on the bottom, or are they just an insert? Too large for a repop red cap battery? I was planning to just reuse my battery tray and bolt that down, figured I could use the stock hold down setup then.

its just an insert for under the battery so any acid that leaks down wont eat up your tray.

I put my battery in a plastic marine case. I did not want anything in my trunk to get battery acid on it and that worked great. Ron

Well I was going to go with one of the repop, sealed type batteries. I don't feel like sinking a mint into the battery mount so I'm just going to use my stock front tray and bolt that down. At least it will look "factory appearing"

Maybe I'll shoot it with undercoat as an added protection
