So I’m about to put my interior back in my 74 satellite after doing the floor pans I rented a rug DR for my home carpets and got the accessory kit hoping to do my satellite carpets. Anyone ever done this? I’m half concerned that it might damage them. Worst case scenario though I’m out 150 for new carpets. It’s black carpet and when I took it out the floors had ants and were filthy.

Also I put down sound deadining…is there supposed to also be an underlayment under the carpets like a home carpet would have? That kinda foam pillow sheet stuff. Thanks for your help guys.

I think you’ll be fine cleaning the carpet in your car. It wasn’t foam, but I “think” there was sound deadener (?) I didn’t use any (weight)

I've taken the carpets to the .25 cent power wash. Learned this when I worked at the dealer. Hang them off the tailgate of your pick up and blast away. All the dirt and grime runs to the ground. Rinse out well. Then hang them and let them drip dry. I bough a 2006 Ford P/U it had about 1" of gravel on it. Looked terrible. Spent $17.00 on it. This was 3 years ago. Still looks like new. Works great on floor mats as well.

I put down some kill mat, I think I’ll just lay the carpet on that.

I have a power washer with variable pressure settings I might just go this way in my back yard. Put some detergent in the tank and let her rip. Thanks man I don’t know why I didn’t think of that.
