Rust Converter?

I'm replacing the floor in my car.
This is not a restoration, but I want to address rust inside the rails.

If I knock down the rust with wire brushes, what's the best way to proceed from there?

You need to get nearly all the rust off for the Duplicolor/LocTite to work.

Like a wire wheel maybe.

Stay away from muratic acid. Besides it being deadly,If not neutralized properly,it will continue to eat thru the metal. All these so called rust encapsulators are just that... encapsulators. Who wants that?

If air or moisture finds a pinhole in your encapsulator,the rust will take off again and bubble your encapsulator right off. I used POR15 in the frame rails a few years ago but after reading and talking to some very knowledgeable people about it have since quit using it.

Any CLEAN bare metal gets epoxy first before anything else period JMO.

I blast inside the rails where removing the floor gives access, and use this where I cannot get to

I have used a rust converter from a company called “The Shops”. Have had good luck with it.
