Soooo, I’ve used this forum for the last year and a half for the great content and ideas from people that know a heck of a lot more about these cars than I do. But I’m finally getting into the tough part of the restoration(metalwork) and decided to join the party. Am looking for some wisdom in the matter now.
Case is- all original 69 Coronet RT. Want to keep it as original as possible and do the best quality work I can. I can do the very basics of metalwork but just lack the confidence as I don’t want to screw up such a neat car. So I have 2 fellas doing the rust repair and they know there stuff just not specific mopar restoration stuff. I realize I’m overthinking things but not sure how to get what I want with these guys doing the work without doing the actual work myself in regards to the metalwork. I’ll make sure to get pictures shortly as that is always nice for visual.

Are they doing it in your shop or their shop? I think communication is the key ... be specific with what you want/expect. If they agree, great. If not, ask why - they just might have a better idea or method.

I'm jealous!
Have you seen any of their work?
What all needs to be done?
The above advice is simple but good. I think being present and doing much of the grunt work as possible will help things

Yes it is in our shop just for a few weekends then will go to the guys shop. It needs some love but I’m just getting the rust cut out and repaired. The basic areas, behind rear tires on quarter, behind back windshield, trunk.
As far as their work goes. Very good at finish work and paint but not as much experience in rust. The guy admitted he was looking forward to challenging his metal skills with this, but he is genuinely excited to work on it which I like.
