I have an old Chrysler - Peterson publication about Lindys attempt at the flats if interested. He was buildng a Hemi Bird. Age old tech but maybe worth a read.

Hey Joe,I think your plan is awesome.I ran the airstrip attack here at the Colorado Springs Airport in my charger back in June. I was able to get to 150MPH in 1/2 mile. I run a F1 Procharger on my Hemi and put a little over 800 to the ground and I was pushing the engine to its limits to do the 150 in half mile.It was a little sketchy when I got to 150 but a lot fun. I am planning on trying to do 160 next year with some changes. This was my first time doing high speeds but I felt the car did well and could do a little more with a air dam and different gears. I know its not quite what your doing but if you want to see any of the set up I have I would be more than willing to share.
Thanks,Joe
Yeah, I'm reading more and learning more thanks to everyone's input. I'm still researching to come up with a good recipe for the engine. that is why I like to hear what other guys (or gals, if you've seen Emily in Flying Sparks garage videos on YouTube) have done and parts they've used. A lot of guys are recommending Trick Flow heads. Anyone have their favorites/I think this is a great project, something I've always wanted to do too.
Echoing others here, but it's going to take more than 600hp to push a vintage car to 200mph. Car Craft did a '93 Mustang Cobra...took 720hp to go 201...The 2013 Shelby GT500 made 650 hp and could run 200 mph, and of course someone's already posted on the Hellcat. All those cars have a C/D less than any vintage iron.
Please keep us posted on the progress, I think it'll great fun!
