hey I wanted to run this by everyone.I jus replaced the rear leafs and shackles on my 69 roadrunner.Question is should i just pitch the old pair?I dont have room to be storing and moving them around, the bottom overload leafs are both broke too,and were very saggy when i removed them.If anyone wants they can come get them too,for free!!Thanks

Are you sure they are overload springs on the bottom? HP springs had 5 leaves and 2 half leaves on the passenger side, which could look like they were broken

oh ok,they are both 5 leaf springs and the 1st spring (bottom) looks like back half of spring is broken. Now that you said that ill double check again.Still are they worth keeping though? or should i just throw them in the scrap bin?

Leaf spring material is pretty good stuff and can be cut up and used as a spoon for body work or other tools. Otherwise I suppose you can scrap them.

The main leafs have the added benefit when used as pry bars, to be able to hit them on the inside of the loop when you get them stuck. LOL Rene'

i knew a guy that made custom built knives and he said leaf springs made the best stock for making knives.

I got a couple pair I didn't know what I was saving for until i read this and now I do. I Can probably make a rocking chair for me and break em down for a whole set of downhill skis for the kids!

I save everything. It can be dealt with at the estate sale!
