One thing I did learn from this is that if your arm is on the positive battery post and you touch the engine you are in for a surprise

I just remembered I have the tester for gasses in the radiator so I will do that today
Looks like some serious blow by there. Are you useing a pcv on the other valve cover? How many miles are on the engine?
Leak down test those front cylinders and see what you get.
