Sorry you got scammed but I am sure the telltale signs were all there. That said I bet they are not out of San Diego either. FB is FILLED with NOTHING but scammers.

This is another facebook scammer it seems, lots of pictures but no feedback , He says he is in California, his phone says he is in Texas

My Son in law got scammed on F.B. with a hood he purchased. He paid and the hood never arrived. He tried everything to get a reply or refund. F.B. even basically said tough luck.

even reviews can be faked, really hard to trust any of the people on Facebook. I guess you could tell them to send it COD only, no prepay.......

Don’t if not all online transactions involve a credit card? Most credit card companies allow you to dispute charges, especially for items purchased and not delivered. The card companies will usually automatically reverse the charges and then investigate your claim. If the claim results in your favor the reversal is permanent. Committing fraud across state lines is also a felony if prosecuted.
None of the scammers will accept credit cards. Only electronic payment like Venmo or Paypal friends and family, which there is no recourse with.

Well that’s a red flag right there. The one and only time I’ve ever used a cash app to purchase something from a stranger was a couple of months ago from a well known member on this site, and that still made me feel uneasy.
Red flags! Learn how to spot them, and those telltale names, and you’ll be alright!

I have a mopar FB buy and sell group with over 90,000 members and I constantly remind them that you can't be scammed if you use the correct payment method. There is only one method and that is PAYPAL with fees. If a seller does not accept paypal with fees then 99% of the time it is a scammer. I have over 10,000 transactions in Paypal and never have I had an issue. I honestly would rather do Paypal with fees than cash. Cash can be conterfeit. DO NOT use Zelle, Cash app, Facebook pay, Paypal Friends and Family, Venmo etc. Also, if you use paypal with fees do not let them send you an invoice, only send funds directly to their email address in paypal and not through their invoice. Also when I have doubts I call Paypal to verify their email and account, especially on large funds.
