I have a car out there on the web for sale.
Yesterday, I received a text-- like your car whats your lowest buy it now price? I replied and a few minutes later got #2 text I'll take it full price by Paypal please give me the e-mail to transfer the money? I replied. #3 text I'm on a oil rig will it be OK to send an extra $1000 and it would be a big favor to send the $1000 to my girl by Western Union who needs the money to pick up the car??
I replied will get back then looked into WU locations and charges. I replied I need the money through PP into my bank account before car, title or $1000 moves. Text#4 money sent do you have PP confirmation? I received 3 e-mails from a fake PP source all confirming the price of the car, the $1000 and a $100 for WU charges BUT MONEY WON'T BE RELEASED UNTIL WU TRACKING NUMBER OF THE $1000 IS CONFIRMED--FOR THE PROTECTION OF THE REMITTER!!!! I LOOKED IN MY PP ACCOUNT THROUGH MY OWN LINK AND FOUND A ZERO BALANCE. BE CAREFUL OUT THERE.

I'll report to PP --they may want to caution their members.

PS it's a 70 Buick Stage 1 tribute in the other classified section.

Happens all the time. No car deal should ever be that complicated. Thats a give away that something is not right. Anytime they start asking if they can send extra money WU for you to send to someone, the answer is NO. If you are on an oil rig i guess you ain't buying this car. Unless its still for sale when you get on dry land and you show up cash in hand!!

Iwould have told him to wu all the $$ to his gf and have her bring cash to pickit up...end of conversation right there

I send back a price of at least 5k more than the ad price and they still accept....sooooo....a scam...I even asked if they read their previous e-mails....after a while I didn't get anymore...also have 3 bogus checks sent for a car...one looked real good and the bank drawn on asked for a copy..others coukdn't be bothered...Fed gov't has a recording to report scams....they don't care either....and forget the locals...we're on our own as far as scams are concerned

I get those all the time. Craigslist is notorious for that stuff. The first one I nearly fell for. Now I just screw with them.
[ Not 1 cuss word ] I'm learning. :evil6:

I would like to report this smiley. Not Family friendly. :jerk:

Was the ph # 440-941-1561 and the email something [email protected]...

Also why don't you put the ph 3 they texted you from , why would you keep that pertinent information a secret.

Had someone try that with my daughter awile back when she was selling one of her horses. They wanted to send xtra $$$ to her and put it in her bank account then take the xtra $$ and mail it to some place in ohio. I called the local PD in that town and they told me the address was an empty lot but the sender was somewhere in mass.

Why would anyone ever seriously consider engaging in a transaction where funds are transferred from the seller to the buyer ???

Freaken' scammers are a lower form of life, than pond scum... Hey I have some swamp land in Florida, I will sell them...LOL... Most of those scam things I get, are all from some Govt. guy/gal in Africa always....
