Well hello everybody fans I tried putting it under new scoop I purchased today to see how it looks like to get your input as to how

Looks good, I'm a fan of the year and scoop.

For those of you who own 6667 Coronet charger with this particular type of scoop should I mount it all the way back against the back edge the hood or should i mount it a few inches forward what do you think

I believe there mounted flush with the rear of the hood, but not 100# on that, I'm sure someone will chime in with the correct info.

As for looks... I think that scoop matches nicely with the body

I think the stock height Superstock scoop is the only one that looks good on these cars...but that's just my opinion. If the time comes for me to add a scoop to my Satellite, it will be my only consideration.

As for location, I'm almost 100% certain all the times I've seen it install it's right up against the hood line.

I mounted one on my 66 satellite and mounted it wrong.... It should be mounted far enough forward from the rear of the hood to allow the bolts to clear inner brace. If its not placed in the correct position front to back the bolts will wind up inside the ribs and you won't be able to get the nuts on them... Double check this before you drill holes. I certainly didn't!!!!

This is Larry at Sled City Fiberglass. Here is the final word as to where to place that R-O scoop on your 66-67 B body. It gets mounted at the rear edge of the hood, same as a 64-65. We race what we sell and that is where it is mounted. My friend at Smith Motorsports has a real R-O and a real W-O and they are mounted clear to the rear also. Your screws that are in a brace area needs to have a hole saw used there for a firm tightening surface. Oh, by the way, we sell all the fiberglass for your B-bodies including all the scoops, fenders, hoods, bumpers and trunks, and some dashes.

Are your glass hoods designed to compensate for this or do you have to hole saw them too? Seems they should be molded to accept the scoop mounting hardware without cutting 1" holes in the braces of a brand new 500+ dollar hood. IMO looks silly...

For the record the hood and scoop I use came from AAR/Stinger so maybe yours is better.

I have never had any complaints about my $350 flat lift off hoods, and most orders go out with an additional order for a scoop. What did you pay for the Stinger flat hood? We race a 67 Hemi Belvedere and that hood has been on the car for 14 years and lookin good!

My is not lift off its hinged. I paid $550 if I remember correctly. The pic was taken in my hotel room at the Carlisle show and the only one I have of the inner structure on my computer. I normally do not sleep with car parts.

Our Hoods are race hoods and the bracing looks nothing like a heavy stock unit. We are able to put out bracing wherever the client needs it.
