I am struggling to correctly ID these seats. Bought some low back buckets correct for a 66 Coronet build and snatched these while I was there. Any help on ID and value would be appreciated.
I’ll look again today, there was a build sheet, but it was completely disintegrated.is there a metal tag, 6-8" long in the seat bottom springs? It has info on it that I have not been able to totally decipher, but it seems to me that there is a date code stamped in it. All the digits/letters are stamped on the tag.
May make a lot of sense in that a car the owner once had was a 69 Barracuda that his son said that he had high back buckets in at one time.Looking at the molded seat backs, looks like they do not have the metal covers over the lower curved area that makes them 72 & newer...
Definitely looks like 68-69 tracks...
I've only owned one 71 & it had the metal caps.. But it was leather interior & early production... So it may have been an odd ball... Well, correction, it was an oddball, it was heater delete and it had an AM/cassette..... Plus a Hemi & a 4spd...71-72 seats had one piece molded back covers on them.
yes, I've heard early 71's can have metal caps carried over.I've only owned one 71 & it had the metal caps.. But it was leather interior & early production... So it may have been an odd ball... It’s very common for ALL ‘71 A, B and E-bodies to have the metal seat hinge covers. I had a few ‘71’s with them.I've only owned one 71 & it had the metal caps..
