I know it's not a mopar, but they have a hell if a package i thought you'd all appreciate...

My dad, my son and I spent the day in the pits with our friends, the Bruder Brothers. Rich and Nick own the World Record in X275 class. 1st round they ran a 4.77 in the 1/8 but didn't show all their cards. Their record is 4.50. Due to tech problems at the track, the schedule was all backed up so they enver got to run the finals.

They run a aluminum small block was originally 427 but has migrated up to about 450's as the sleeves have gone away. Supercharged, no nitrous on straight race gas. They put down about 2000hp on 9 inch wide DOT radials.

Great day but would've been better but we only saw ONE Mopar! Turns out there were a whopping 3 there, but we only saw one in the pits. I'll post the vid and more pix when i get em from my dad.

Checkout the stickers - they've dominated so much the rules have been changed to up their weight from 2800lbs to 3425 - and they've been giving competitors 200lb exceptions just to get people to come out and race them.

this is a recent pic of the engine (for some reason yesterday's pic didn't save). That's a pic of the intake that was outlawed. They came back with another that was within the rules... and faster lol.

2000 hp on 9" DOT's!? I guess I haven't paid much attention but that's even a lot for a 10.5W. It's been a couple of years since watching some of those guys but they seem to be always working on the car. Sure wish I had my old 10.60 car back because it was a pleasure not having to work on it much lol.

I'm not a big Mustang fan, but thats a well built car, great ET's... That's a ton of power on 9" DOT drag radials/slicks, let alone 10.5W's, even they were marginal safe at best... it's a damn good thing they only run 1/8 mile... would be a real hazard in the 1/4 mile for sure... Impressive, what did the 3 Moaprs run ??

Yeah, i'm not a mustang fan either but like you said, the car's a tight package. The the cuda and swinger ran 8.5 index but i didnt get to see the owners in the pits, so i dont know what they're running. The challenger had a hemi in it judging from badging but i think his weekend was over by time i noticed him.

These were very nice guys that ran the 55. They hand built the car themselves and even hand fab'd the carbon front end and some of the rest of the body. 2 brothers, 67 years old and 70. The 'little' brother did the driving.

you'll love this - the nova has 3500 hp and ran outlaw 10.5. Not surprising, they couldnt put the power to the ground all weekend.
