SHIPPING WOES !!!

I ordered some chocolates last year from a specialty factory north of where we live. They go to great lengths to pack their high quality product well. But they have no control over the a-holes who transport the goods....this is the outer carton as it arrived at my door.....

The chocolates were fine inside, but that's not the point. After complaining about the rough treatment, I was assured that an alternative Courier was now being used.....too many complaints apparently.

I bought four roll up blinds for my screened in porch. They came in round cardboard tubes with plastic caps stapled on the ends. Three out of four blew out a hole in the plastic cap on the end and were hanging almost half way out when fed-x threw them on the front porch. They were packed perfect. I believe they think the better the packaging the less they have to be careful. The cost goes up and the service goes down.

I hate to be there bearer of bad news but any package that arrives damaged will be said to be improperly packaged ,whether it is or not. Insurance only covers you if the shipping company loses the item . The only thing the shipping company takes responsibility for is your cash.

been waiting on Fedex as well for 9 days now. WTF! Blame on weather and the roads are clear! ruffcut FEDEX SUCKS!
not that others are any better, but I will NEVER use FedEx... ever

Thanks for the $200 puzzle UPS...

That's ridiculous. I've gotten to where I hate shipping anything these days. Most of the delivery companies simply do not give a **** and have no respect for other people's property. Been selling parts to a guy in several states away as it's too far to travel so just doing package deals at a time but he just sent me a photo of the latest box I sent and UPS had ripped a softball sized hole in the side. Thankfully nothing got damaged since I go to what I thought were extreme measures to bubble wrap every single part then pad the whole box with either styrofoam or those inflatable pillow things but apparently it's absolutely necessary to ensure pieces arrive in one piece. I've had 2 heater boxes shipped to me and both times ended up with broken pieces.

My Keisler TKO back in the arrived with the shaft EXPOSED. Completely through. Don’t remember who, but it was packed by Keisler.

We now have 'a local guy', driver for up here that drives for FedEx
the new (to here) driver lives about 5 miles up the hill from me...
I had a good talk with the guy, a total car guy
I'd say in his mid 50s
(said he came out of retirement, to drive, keep himself busy)
I was working in the garage,
he saw my RR when he pulled in my driveway,
we struck up a good convo.
(a diecast car delivery, I asked not to ship FedEx, it still came FedEx)
During the talk/visit
I told him about some of my previous 'mostly all negative issues with FedEx'
he had said;
"At the hub he works out of, they changed a bunch of people
because all of the complaints, and a big turnover, most got fired,
mostly were all younger people/drivers"
(He is out of the Tracy hub, IIRC)

He told me, that he gets to drive the (Merc/Sprinter-Bread truck/Van like rig)
home at nights, makes his commute much easier
then in the early AM, (like 4:30) he drives it down to Tracy,
He also said he loads his truck himself, that wasn't a reg. practice prior
the shipping receiving/dock workers usually did it
He says it's a lot better Now;
Even if it'd like 12 hr days, he doesn't have to commute
back to from Tarcy to up the mountain '2 times a day'...
That he can put stuff in order from down the hill, to up the hill
& special treatment for special packages...
He drives back up here, has about 100-120 regular accounts/stops
mostly all rural & in the hills/communities above Sonora

He seemed like a good/nice personable guy, far better than the last guys
like 3 different delivery people/drivers, always in a huge hurry, standoffish...

I'll still ship UPS or USPS whenever I can...

But at least there's some light at the end of the tunnel now,
some hope...

Compliments of UPS years ago. The box looked like a truck backed over it. This cluster was in near perfect condition with the chrome still like new. That's really rare and there's no replacing it. The seller and I doubled the value and split the money from the settlement.

I bought a replacement Ram tailgate from a California supplier. It came packaged in a single layer of thin cardboard, the cardboard all ripped and torn. Every corner was bent, had impact damage in the center that looked like a hammer strike. I called the supplier and they said they would ship another one, and to keep the first. The second came in even worse shape, so they refunded me $100.00 and said to keep both. I gave up and did the bodywork.

Last week, I watched a Fed Ex driver (not my normal driver) throw a motorcycle tire I ordered 25 feet up into my driveway from the door of the truck and drive away. Luckily I was working from home and saw it happen out the window because the tire rolled back down the driveway behind my Jeep.
I am not surprised, I had a "Gentlemen" throw a heavy plaque against my new and freshly stained front door so hard I heard it while in the shower! (My neighbor saw him do it) I called a friend of mine who has been at Fedx for many years to complain, he explained that these "couriers" are not really employees of Fedx, but contractors, who must paint their trucks/vans a certain manner and wear a uniform indicating a representative for Fedx, but they are not..... Apparently, the freight delivery folks ARE Fedx employees, but not the smaller delivery trucks/vans. Not sure these days if that makes a hill of beans difference or not though, honestly.
