In a van, down by the river,
My seat covers has some ears that don't seem to have any use. But I did not want to cut them off till I checked. IMG_0186.jpgIMG_0187.jpg It is a 69 Roadrunner seat, and it has plastic hinge coves so I see no use for these.

unless they stop some sort of item rubbing another, why not cut them off.just be really careful not to cut any stiching.

uhh, I was actually afraid to open this thread at firswt, figuring your wife was trying to trick you or something. However, I would say yes, as long as you don't hit the stitching.

extra material to "pull" the cover on?....or extra for a small repair? or extra for matching future covers?....I would leave it.

I would have thought that piece would have been fastened under the seat before hog ringing the tail over the top of it. I don't think people that reproduce seat upholstery kits add unnecessary fabric or items that have no purpose. I would check with the people where you purchased the covers before I removed them. I am sure there is a reason for them being there.

Don't they just tuck underneath the seat hinges/covers on the edge ?? Maybe to keep from rubbing on the seat cover... just a shot in the dark... but that's my best guess...

These covers came with the car, they where REM brand. They couldn't go under the cover, unless it was inside out. There is another flap thats in the middle of the two backs, it covers the center hinge. I have used Legendary covers before and not had these. Maybe they had a new person when they made them. But I'm going to wack them off!
