I found a couple of neat shots that were forgotten until this week. Father's Day Drag meeting from 2009 in New Zealand. Pro-photographer Mike Ashton caught these for me right at the tree;

So dig out YOUR burnout pics (or video footage) to share...not pics off the innerweb....You driving your car :3gears:

Sorry... my best burnouts were done back in the day, and no one ever thought to bring a camera with them. :)

Don't have any of my cars either but have this.....my stock Cummins powered pickup :D And yes, both rear tires are contributing.

Here's a pic of me at the very first Father's Day Drag meeting here in New Zealand - 3rd September 1989 (day after my birthday)

It is believed to be the longest legal burnout in New Zealand :eusa_dance: ...it was also the last, as the track Officials decided it was too hard to sweep all that rubber off the track :icon_razz: Went in excess of the quarter mile - spinning those F70-14's at around 70mph all the way in second gear, which gave me an ET of just over a minute. Car was my '70 Roadrunner fitted with a 440, 4 speed and 3.23:1 rear gears. Heated up the engine a bit doing that skid, but it was worth the effort. Luckily the car had a bench seat, so when the smoke filled the car just beyond the tree, I was able to slide across enough and crank up the passenger side window. All the while holding a decent sideways line. And at times I could not see where I was going. That skid has also been caught on video, so when I manage to translate from VCR to YouTube it will be here. :headbang:

Back in the good ol' days. Just think if cell phones with cameras would have been around back then, we would have all kinds of cool shots. Man I wish I would have kept a couple of my cars from back then.

Here it is, I have been trying for years to get this uploaded....finally found the method :3gears: The first car doing a static burnout wasted a brand new pair of tyres in an attempt to claim the title - see the pieces fly at the end of his effort.

at 1:03 you can hear the Beep-Beep of the horn to show I crossed the finish line :D

I only wish I had some archives showing my old school muscle. Thankfully I still have the car and hope to get some new digital ones here shortly.
