Saw this pic and it got me wondering if many of you are running side pipes?

That's one thing I don't see much of these days. 40 years ago (man I'm getting old) a guy in high school had some Thrush sidepipes on his '66 383 Charger that I'll never forget.

I suppose I don't really need to ask, I just have to check out who in here has skin grafts on their calves...

My ex had stripes on her ankle from previous boyfriends Corvette. Wish he would have kept her.

Had side pipes in the late 70's on a Torino, never again. Not just the hot pipes but the noise was just stupid loud, couldn't have a conversation or listen to music with the windows down.

Here is a pic of it after repairing a little collision I had

I had a '66 fairlane and while putting on a dual exaust from the stock manifolds I swapped the pipes left for right and they dumped just behind the front tire..... I ran a mix of alcohol and catalyst with some water in it and at night it had a blue flame flickering @55mph cruising the other cars would pull over to the shoulder and let me pass it was so intimidating.... so loud you couldn't stand it with out ear plugs

I got pulled over and the cop was so pissed he forgotten to give me a ticket just screamed at me for a minute before I shut it off and once I could hear what he was yelling I couldn't under stand a word what he was frothing so bad.... he went back to his car and as he drove off was still pointing and fumeing to him self... bone stock 429 thunder jet out of a 68 t bird

Side pipes is a Chevy thing. Fugettabouddit.

Guess you've never seen a Cobra? The problem with side pipes is that you only hear 4 cylinders firing if you have your window down. Definitely not the V-8 sound most of us like.

Keystones, Cragars, and the worlds biggest shackles all on the same car! Man the drugs were good back then. :)

That was a different era for sure, side pipes in stuff other than T-Buckets, Vans, Cobras or Vette, select few others,
maybe Baldwin Motion cars... they were pretty cool,
IMHFO most everything else, they don't really look right, especially on Mopars, with very few execptions

Enjoy

Nah.. guess not. I worked with a guy years ago who built a kit cobra, but I looked the other way when he brought his car into the garage.
