Nothing to bite on. They were never Silver that anyone has been able to show definitive proof of. Always Gold...

My 70 Road Runner has a really nice silver one on it. It sat outside in the Oklahoma sun for 40+ years so it was bleached out. Kinda crazy people restoring cars are buying these since it is silver 40 plus years after the original was installed.

They were all originally Gold when new. Exposure to the elements can bake the gold plating off, leaving the silver coloured base metal.

But seriously, when I was shopping for the Pentastar on my RR I saw both silver and gold options.

Glad I picked the gold.
Otherwise some of you guys around here would never let me hear the end of it LOL
