Single pattern VS. Dual pattern

Hi again folks.

I'm now about to choose cam for my build.

I've been looking at the comp Xtreme energy 268H (268/280) (224/230 @0.050)

But now I'm offered a used High energy 268 single pattern cam (218/218 @0.050)

for a nice price...

The XE268H also has higher lift than the HE268..

Wich one do you think will work best with this combo?

383 + 0.030bore
915 closed chamber heads (0.048 quench)
9.91:1 CR

Edelbrock dp4b intake
Holley 650dp
headers

Aiming for deacent idle, street enginge with occational racing. Hoping for 350+ hp

the Comp 268 may be a lilttle rough in a 383, i had great luck with the Extreme energy 268. in a 440, idle was kinda choppy, but man it ran good with a six pack
the dual patter cams make better vacuum signal for carburetors, and IMO is the only way to go. I dont even consider single patter cams any more.

throttle response is better and the over all torque and HP is better over a broader RPM range.

Personally, id look at this Lunati Voodoo cam over the Comp 268http://www.lunatipower.com/Product.aspx?id=1578&gid=362

the he268 is too small. the xe268 is better.

I guessed so. I just don´ want to make the common mistake of "overcamming" the engine. And the offer on the smaller one was so good, thaty I felt I needed to double-check with you pro's
