Site upgrade...

It's good to know our opinions are being heard.
I read most stuff here.....you might not realise that....but I do.

I am watching several people who don't even know that.

Of course they are. And I make adjustments where I can. But there is also reality. Some things I can't really change, or take time to get changed.

It's easy to say "if it ain't broke don't fix it" - especially when you don't have to clean up the mess when it does break all of a sudden because you didn't keep up on maintenance and upgrades. Software must be upgraded from time to time as support and compatibility do not last forever as new technologies come online.

Trust me, upgrades like this suck for me. They cost me a lot of money, a lot of time and a lot of aggravation. Then I get a bunch of grief from members over it as well.

This is "Hi-tech" to me.

I like the emojis. The internet inherently lacks tone in conversation, and emojis help a bit.

On the other hand, - "reaction score"? Sounds like a Dr office.

Likeability? ;-) Ah, go back to "likes recieved", for the crochety old guys. The less change the better.

After reading all the negative posts here about how horrible the latest site software up-grade is, and the general lack of appreciation that comes with the new version.....I find it hard to believe that a similarly qualified & experienced bunch of people as some of the complainers here, were able to land man on the moon in 1969 with what amounted to nothing more than the processing power of a modern digital wristwatch.

@Kern Dog - feel free to punctuate me. :welcome:
I see nothing wrong.
I am one of the last people to willingly accept change. The recent upgrades seem okay to me though.
It is curious that my "Reaction score went from this:

....to 71,313. I was at 75,*** before the changes here. What happened?

Understood. But I did mention a few things I like. So, it's not all bad.

I still don't understand how the fonts got screwed up just updating the security measures.

It seems like the font is bigger for me.
I DO like the UP arrow that shows up on the phone. That is a fantastic addition.

PC version seems fine; yeah the look different but no big deal. As long as the functionality is there...the page buttons were gone but are back thank goodness, but are still missing when viewed from (at least my android) phone. Hopefully that will be fixed soon...
The "similar threads" grid at the bottom is a nice add.

Does your 50 Hz toaster work best on (take your pick): solar panels, wind power, nuke power, natural gas or coal? Which one works best at toasting bagels? Inquiring minds want to know.....
BOB RENTON
No bagels in New Zealand! It's my understanding they toast bugs and small mammals though!
