Actually, USAA is United Services Automobile Association. I've been with them (my own account since 1987) and my father has been with them since 1960. If you pay the $500 deductible, the only way to get that back is to take the guy to court. Been there, done that.
 
In FL, it's usually the last car that gets the shaft for the whole thing (even though we're "no fault"). I got lucky once on that (third car out of four), and I had a bud that barely tapped a string of three other cars (most totalled, but only smudged his painted bumper), and he got sued by every other driver, with litigation stretching out over a year.
