73 Charger 340 727, Ok I know it is a easy thing to do...LOL... So why the hell can't I do it LOL.
Something is off with my linkage, I have to struggle to get the shifter placed into park by putting some downward force on the shifter and I have no first location.
Also each shift location seems very wrong.
I have searched and read the previous posts and I tried to adjust the bar at the swivel point and 1/2 nut as suggested and this has not corrected anything.

My assumption is you have a B&M???? ANyways, I had same problem with mine, so when I was walking by the cable one day in Summit, I snapped a photo - worked for me

Thanks Cazbah, but this is the original slap stick shifter I am having problems with, it is the
short linkage rod that goes from the arm through the tunnel, to the tranny lever, it has a bolt adjustment on it to slide the rod in and out, I can't find the right spot.
