Anyone have a 64 dodge with a sled city hood or dash that can post some pics?

Couple of weeks ago ....just goin into water box....Sled City hood and medium height max Wedge scoop cayuga 2013.jpg

I can't get them to return emails.

Another member is having the same problems with email and phone calls. Kinda hard to do business when ya don't answer the phone or check emails!! Also, aren't they a vendor on FBBO?

There was a thread about this a few months ago regarding a problem also with larry.Guy not getting his stuff.
I'm not sure what to think about this company anymore.

Was thinking about ordering a pin on hood (13lbs)from VFN. Very nice lady on the phone said $299 + around $150 truck freight to the west coast. About 4 week lead time to build n ship. I weighed the steel hood with glass scoop the other day not including hinges 72lbs!!! :icon_eek:

i'm going to get a pin hood with AFX scoop from AAR Fiberglass for my 65 Plymouth Belvedere. I have heard horror stories about VFN. What about Glasstek?

AAR is AWESOME!! I ordered both front fenders for my Coronet through them, and had them in 2.5 weeks... and they are QUALITY pieces!

63 hood

Here's a pic of my 63 hood from Glasstek with a scoop from AAR. Super quality from both and excellent fit/finish.

thats the way I want to go with my 65 Plymouth. If I get down to 9.0 to 9.teens I'll be replacing my hood and fenders to all fiberglass from these suppliers.

Looks like the only pieces that Glasstek offers for 64 Dodge is a dash and a rear bumper? Kinda odd offering but, guess you can't be all things to all people. Not as many choices out there for the 64 Dodge crowd it seems.

GLASSTEK has NOTHING for 65's at all dodge or Plymouth.from what the website says

my sled city hood on my 63 belvedere starts curling up the front at 120 mph.i paid more for the stinger hood on my 65 coronet but it is a quality piece.

my sled city 65 dodge hood curls up in both back rear corners and i had to put 8 hood pins total to keep the front looking like a teepee

Here's a better shot of my Sled City hood and scoop ...AND the pins to keep it there at 120 mph +.....Yes , it's definitely a "race" weight hood at 18 lbs but my intention was to save weight and that it does.
I just recently got this stuff from Larry, as well as front and rear bumpers and trunk lid....Fit and finish are fine as far as I'm concerned, for my purpose.
I found in dealing with Sled City, Larry always got back to me, although maybe not as quick as I'd have liked.....Otherwise a good guy to deal with from my experience.....64 Hood.jpg

have you taken it down the track yet?
If not,i would add 2 to the front like mine.if not the outcome might be less than dramatic.

We're running Sled City Hood, and bumpers. The quality is good the service we've received has been good. As far as the hood lifting, I didn't notice anything at 134 mph but we are running 3 pins in the front, 1 on each side in the middle and 1 on each side on the rear corners.
Larry may not be the most prompt in returning calls.... (no excuse for that) but I never heard where he has screwed anyone. What I will say is Larry is one of the few that sells 63-65 Dodge and Plymouth B body fenders, hoods, deck lids, bumpers, hood scoops, etc etc. and it's nice stuff.

Just my opinion.

Thanks for the tip SSR but I've got 19 runs on the car with this pin layout and all is well......some runs with headwind.....some with quartering wind...all runs 120 to 123 mph. The center rear pin keeps the hood down on carb pan foam sealer ring. The front center of the 64 hood is probably stronger than the 65 hood because of the V trim channel so center is less inclined to bend back.

I will say that my original layout had the middle and front pins back about 6 inches from where they are now and I DID have the front corners coming up at top end...scary..lol
