sloppy steering

my mates 69 charger has had all new steering and suspension components put in idler arm etc. the steering box has been pulled apart and has alot of wear can anyone recommend a new or better style steering box (manual)

In the interest in sticking with a compatible "bolt in" type steering box, there are only a few. The only NEW one that I know of is FLAMING RIVER. They are around $500 here. They are a 16-1 ratio.
Regarding a rebuilt used unit, Firm Feel in Washington state rebuilds power steering boxes, I suspect they may do manual chucks as well.

check and see if you can find a rebuild kit.i am sure shipping a whole str box out there would be very pricey.
