In my SM reference is made to tool C-3826. Does anyone know what kind of meter this is? It doesnt sound like a regular V meter. It regards testing the gauges in my 67 Coronet. It's on page 8-81 if anyone has the same SM as the pix I attached.

i'm working on a gas gauge issue on my 66 Coronet and i've been referencing my service manual too.

that tool that they reference is simply a potentiometer... a pot. it creates a resistance value: high resistance, medium resistance, and low resistance.

in regards to the fuel gauge: empty is 73ohms plus or minus 12 ohms, full is 9.6 ohms plus or minus 1 ohm.

today i bought a potentiometer at Radioshack and i was able to simulate that tool you mention by fiding the 73ohm and 9ohm spots. but i must have not got the proper power rating cause it eventually smelled like burning electronics.

i placing the pot in the circuit at the tank end of the line.
