I'm looking for a new battery cable for my small block 69 Coronet. Seems like there are more economical options for a big block cables. The pictures show the exact same cable setup as what I have now.

Are the battery cables interchangeable between small and big block?

Same one, at least for my 68...I think they are more model or year specific generally

Cables are Cable's make sure you get the right length and if you need a second lead and gauge but besides that anything will basically work

batt cable changes as mentioned by body and year, but not engine ;)

Have to disagree Nacho, for at least the ’71-72, and E-body applications, correct small block positive cables are longer than the cables for big blocks and slant 6. Other than length, they are the same.

But will the reach/work? I have a 71 Satellite. Needs a positive cable. I don't care about correctness, just want it to reach, connect and work.

Reach? What engine/starter compo are you working with? There are two original cable lengths for ’71-72. Other than length, both are interchangeable electrically, the small block cable is longer than the big block cable. Running the longer cable on one of my big blocks with a mini starter. Big block cable was too short for the relocated mini starter terminals.

Want to know if the shorter big block cable will be long enough for small block with factory starter.

There is a reason that two positive cables with different lengths were manufactured for that application, 2983649-big block & 3764166-small block. IIRC, the difference in length was only an inch or two, but enough to not allow correct routing away from the steering shaft and/or coupler.

Keep in mind if you have headers, the standard factory cable may not work, as with mine I had to lengthen the cable section to the starter to get around the headers!
