Just wanted to remind you fellas to be more careful than I was when using tools. Last Sunday I spent 3+hrs in the local ER getting my hand patched up. I was cutting out spot welds on a fender and got too comfortable with the operation when I slipped off the weld. I went right into the web between my thumb and index finger about 1/2". My flesh was no match for that little saw! 6 stiches and ruined my work schedule.

Owwwww!
Real easy to hurt yourself thru carelessness. Found myself trimming a palm tree yesterday, over my head, on a ladder..... with no eye protection. When a frond hit me on the head, it opened my eyes, so to speak.
Edit: NOT implying you were careless! But I sure was.

Ouch! That's a bad place to heal.

I was shooting screws into a 2x4 frame recently and the phillips bit jumped off the screw and ended up in my middle finger. How the heck did that happen? It bleed like a stuck pig. After that you realize how often that finger gets used for doing daily chores.

I keep telling myself that I should have leather gloves on, but find myself working without them more often than not. I got myself with a cutoff wheel more than a few times! Hope you recover soon!

It’s funny how a lot of us here have worked in a job that requires PPE but we don’t take safety home with us. I’m guilty, but as I get older I find myself thinking about safety more and more.
