Snubber troubles!

One of the bolt hole on the rearend is broken. Part of the case that makes up the bolt hole is missing.

I was going the install the snubber,put a bolt in the part that is left and fill it with J/B weld.

I know this isn't the best but don't know what else to do.

Any ideas/thoughts/knowledge will be helpful

Drill and tap another hole in a different spot. Don't go to far down!

Yup. Pick a spot, or JB weld the original spot and drill and retap it.

I also thought about putting in a stud and welding it in permately. will this work?

It will. But I'm thinking the carrier housing is cast, which means it will have to be "warmed up before you can weld on it.
