Last night went to look at a 4speed setup for my 70 satellite. It came out of a 68 runner. The guy had decided to stay AT. I got 4 speed, pedals , shifter (no handle), clutch, preasure plate, clutch fork, bell housing, linkage, zbar, a 70 steering column, drive shaft, trans mount, floor tunnel, and a nib carpet set. Hows $1200 sound. I guess since i'm talking to you guys i dont have to explain that a 68 runner was a bb 383. (like i do to everyone else i tell about my project). Ad to this i should have a 440 tomorrow. Story on it is that it was built about 6 yrs ago and then put up since the car turned out to be too rusty to mess with (I never saw the car). So now the guy wants it gone and told a relative about it. I told him i want it. Then find out the guy wants $150 for it. I call back and tell my cousins husband if he makes sure i get to buy this motor i'll give him a heck of a deal on my 283 sbc he's been wanting. So he is supposed to be here tomorrow after work with my new motor. All this will have to wait til winter since i was all set to drop a small block in this weekend but by cold weather i'll have it all gone thru and ready to change over. Sorry bout the long post but hey I'm EXCITED

Are you getting the trans included for $1200?

You may want to investigate the 68 bellhousing going in a 1970. They have different part numbers and usually means that the z-bar mount on the bellhousing is in a slightly different location.

1970-72 B/E 10.5" bellhousing PN ##2892513

Also make sure the trans input bearing retainer diameter is the match to the bellhousing. They had a couple differnet sizes.

You'll probably need a few small parts to, www.brewersperformance.com is a great source. They can give you tech help with the bellhousing too.

You can use a 68 bellhousing in a 70 IF you use all the 68 parts. The big difference between the two is pre 70 the bellhousing was steel and used the "big" flywheel, while the 70 up were aluminum with the "small" flywheel

Yes i got the 4 speed too. It all came from a 68RR with the exception of the column. Its going to be hard to wait but i want to do this right. I can stand the 318 for the summer. We loaded the satellite up tonight and took it to my buddys shop. I'll get started on putting in the 318 the weekend. I'll be posting part numbers to check with you guys as i get the parts clean. It does have a steel flywheel. I got the shifter mechanism but no stick so i'll have to pick one up. Oh and when i got home my 70 GTX taillights were here. This has been a great MOPAR week
