growing up my dad had a White 1968 Chrysler with a 383...it saved my life as a child more than once. I can remember my parents (both of them) driving that car over 120mph- burying the speedo in the dash, once when I fell and cut my hand/wrist plying in an old junk pile...carrying me to the doctor over 20 miles away... the rest of the time my dad just hammerin on the old big block just to "blow the sute (spelling) out of it" as he would put it.
anyway, I have located the 1968 Chrysler that my father had when i was a child, I have even spoken to the guy who owns it and he has agreed to sell it to me...no hurry hes had it I KNOW since 1983...
I remember my dad cracking a piston in it, and having replaced that all the way back in 1976....(not just yesterday)
thanks again for this site...I can tell its gonna be a wonderful place, oh and i have included a picture of the chrysler as it sits today...

those were nice cars in their day.She looks like she'll need a lot of attention, but if you've got the grit and determination for it,i say have at it.

That car saved your life twice. Time you saved its life. You owe it.

those times it saved your life... turns out they're gonna cost ya.

i agree HT413....I know the owner, and he and I have already agreed its mine if i want it. I seriously would love to fix this old car for myself....I have plenty of projects going on but one more wouldnt kill me. Plus its a 383 car, of course the engine probably is full of water/etc. but those can be found....just for the record I love POSITIVE car sites with positive attitude people...its what makes our hobbys so wonderful.
I will contact that guy again and express my thoughts and try to work towards a removal date :)

Yeah, harp, this is a good site. Some differences in opinion (of course) but everyone here is positive and there are a lot of real experts in motors, chassis stuff, mopar history... someone here has the answer u need for sure. Welcome aboard.

detmat1- it definetly was. I remember seeing the car back when i was in high school. the guy who owns it brother graduated with me, and we were over there fishing one day with another buddy, and I ran across it. I knew it was my fathers because one of the door locks knobs had been replaced and it was grey instead of the blue like the interior... of course after some time i had forgotten about it, then out of the blue, I decided to stop by and see if it was still there....needless to say, I was shocked. In an age of everyone recycling, especially after the scrap metal prices going up so high at one point, I couldnt hardly believe it was still there...
I am going to do my best to get over there and pick it up soon. the guy says its mine when i want it, so I just have to get time to go after it.
