In the garage. Under the hood. Again.
I've only got 5 acres, but it's a 1/4 mile deep plot. Haven't seen many,if any deer in the last couple of years, thanks to a pack of coyotes that came through and decimated the wildlife around here. They seemed to have moved on,and the deer are back. I've got one doe who thinks she's a movie star:

She's come by with the small buck in tow. However,I had a feeling that there were more around-and I was right:

That's at least an 8-point,possibly a Niner. Looks like about 20-inch spread. The little guy(not the same buck as seen with the doe) ain't half-bad,either. I could see the big guy topping 250lbs.+ come fall-we've got lots of soybeans in the field behind my property. I can taste those tenderloins already...

Didnt catch this one on a game cam but did catch up with him with my pal Remington a couple years ago.:)

Nice to have a friend like that handy! There's some real monsters down here on private land that rarely see hunters-if ever. I hunted an 80 acre farm about 10 years ago with my ex-father in law(hey,we got along then) and two other guys. We all saw massive deer, but not within shooting range. Three of the four(including myself) saw a very wary 14 or 15 pointer through our binoculars, with an immense rack, but could not get near him. The ex f-i-l stated that he saw one on a previous hunt there that would have been B&C record material. There's some huge deer down here in Genesee County(Shhh, don't tell anyone...),but most are on private land that is rarely hunted.

Looks like Harrys hamming it up. Im on 5 acres too and dont set out cameras but see a few froxes and a bunch of rabit & squirl . Every ones in a wile a deer at the back of the pasture.

Propwash, that is some funny ****!!! I can't stop laughin' my *** off!! Oh man, I needed that.

I think I just woke the ol' lady up laughing at that pic! Prop;if Sasquatch shows up on my camera,I'll post the pic here first. Interestingly enough;there have been reports of Sasquatch sightings in mid-Michigan. I'm thinking it may have been some members of my former bike club-a couple of those guys would have scared a Bigfoot!

there was a story on our local news about a mountain lion that was captured on a game camera in wisc.

GREAT idea!

About the same situation here with the deer population, we used to see up to 50 deer in the field across from our driveway, hardly ever now.. were a ways off the road here ourselves, this is a good idea being the woods starts right in back of us and heads back to a gully with creek and red brush, maybe i could hook one up there and catch some good photos, i thought of this before but i have to have a 100 foot cord or buy a battery for the one camera i could use and they are expensive.. ill bet those small red, ill call them lights but there not, got there attention.. Looking right at the camera they glow some or reflect red (night vision cameras), i can see them on mine.. camera itself like a bait to make the curious side come out.. Great idea!!

Well, well. The large buck turned out to be a...count 'em...

...fine-lookin' 10 pointer. That rack would be nice for my first deer-so would the tenderloins cooking slowly in real butter...

The "little" buck? At least a six-point;probably the little brother of the big 'un. Probably won't see him come October;the big guy will move his arse along.

Yes and there seem to be more and more sightings.Last year a 400 pound bear was taken right on our property line. Also the last couple years there have been wolf sightings.Saw one myself 2 years ago, shot deer with a bow and lost the trail and left it till morning.Wasnt much left of the hind 1/4s the next morning.Did see the wolf high tailing out of there.I am about 6 miles north of Waupaca near Ogdensburg.Tons of coyotes in the area as well.Once upon a time it was excellent rabbit, grouse and squirell hunting but not so much anymore.

this shot was taken about 60-70 ft out back door of my shop. i take 1 or 2 a year.:headbang:
