Just finished painting my rear and wanted to post a few pics. I got the brace ideas from Blue Missile on the a body site. Its a 4.10 ratio 489 case cone clutch in an a body housing with the spring perches moved out a half inch for a little more tire clearance. I have the moser axles with 3 inch studs to spin the tires. I think it came out real nice. Its going in my 66 net.

Nice work! It looks great.

That looks cool. I do worry about those nutless pigs though.

Nutless pigs? You mean Camaro owners?

Nice rear, though. Maybe it should be posted in "Cars, Babes, etc." However, don't you move spring perches "in" (as in towards the center of the rear end) to get tire clearance instead of "out" (as in towards the brakes)?

i would spray it with some clearcoat if i were you. easier to clean clear coat than it is regular paint. just a suggestion. the clear coat will give the silver a "powdercoated" look to boot.

Thanks racedodge. had thought about c/c the center but not tubes. thanks

Nice! Who did fab work? Was it checked with a bar for straight?

Moved the perches from a body to B perch location. On my 66 coronet I already have vintage coke bottle wheels that I love the look of but my tires on 15x8.5 wheels with a little dish are touching the fenders when bounced. this will give me the clearance I need.I cant find these wheels in a different backspace.

My friend Larry welded it. Blocked and clamped rear to welding table and stitched it first so it would,nt draw up. .

Lookin clean

Looks really nice ! Here is my Strange Dana 60 with custom " S " Strange Engineering cover.. No detail is too small.. Those Yenkos and others will have a hard time seeing my " S " as I pull away from them next year...

That question was bouncing around in my head! Glad your man did it right and didn't let it "tweak".

I bet you 100 bucks it still moved! I've done plenty of them and nothing that I've done kept them from moving around...so...when installing new bearing housings, I weld them on last.
