We’ve all had a bar that started off well but then Mr. Personality shows up. Drinks too much, gets in your face, his opinion is the only one that matters, talks too much, knows everything about everything, hits on your wife or girlfriend, or both, starts fights, interjects himself into your conversation just to hear himself talk, you know the type. You stop going to that bar to avoid “Mr. Personality”. Good patrons stay away and take other patrons with them to the next bar.

Boards get that way. People stop showing up and posting to avoid other members. I’ve seen that happen on three other boards.

Agree. You get that on web boards more so because people can stay hidden. Also, some people are just jerks regardless of their forum, always feel the need to "show" how smart they think they are by dissing others. In the short time I've been a member here, I have not run into that many here. I hope it stays that way.

The members on FBBO provide a wealth of knowledge and real life experience pertaining to maintaining and restoring these cars. This is where the real value of the inter-webs shines. Thanks to all who contribute and help each day.

I don't recall why or how I wound up here. (That used to be some weekends back in my late teens and early 20s )
I know that 6 bbl tuning is one area of interest that may have led me here.
The political forum has become addictive for me to the point where sometimes I have to force myself to take a break from it so I can get work done.
Bottom line for me, with legendary guys (IMO) like Jim LaRoy here (IQ52) and the depth of advice I get from Budnicks and others, also meeting people in person who I met here...All good! I've also received some great heartfelt advice in private conversations here or just when I needed to talk.

You didn't mention me. I feel slighted.

I started out on FABO, but soon migrated here. The wealth of knowledge here is unbelievable. Whether your a master, or just a hack like me it seems all are welcome. I've met several of you in person, nice to know that we're not just keyboard lurkers.
The tech, and humor is what I stayed for.

If you want to "give" this is a site with a ton of givers......Hence is why the brotherhood here is so strong.....We give, pay it forward and help when needed. Without anything expected in return. There are many imitators but they can never duplicate perfection

I use to post over there quite a bit, that's where I met RC
he certainly had a few detractors & Negative Nancy's on his *** there

I told him to come over here to FBBO,
during one of his many 'vacations'

I figured he'd like it here, made it his second home

he's a real cut up, behind all that stuff he knows his stuff

It is scum like that that ruins a site just like the group at moparts.....Here the swamp gets drained and the losers/jerks get da boot.....

I like this site and the people here! I have known RC for years ,and he has owned some of the coolest cars I have ever seen over the years! There is a lot more freedom of expression over here. I have been on Moparts for many years,and I can say with certainty that I have gotten a wealth of information,cars and parts from the members on that site. I have bought, sold and even traded rare Mopars with the members over there and have never had a bad deal yet! As far as DC goes,I just started going back on there,after I was booted more than a decade ago. They chose sides in a dispute between myself and another member,so I was OK with not going back for many years. Like most sites they all have their clicks,but I don't see much if any of that here. I'm not a Facebook person,but I can see how they are affecting the Mopar sites.
