So who's NOT watching the superbowl today?

I am not a (insert pause for google search) Rihana fan at all. But even I thought, for those that are somehow….like her….music?….that has to be one of the most pathetic half time shows. She made noises that might resemble a couple of songs if you’re in to that, and can call it that. And really that was it. There really wasn’t a show

Long time Chiefs fan here and over the years i've paid the price of hard disappointing seasons and now finally getting my chance to brag about my team. If you didn't watch the GAME then you missed a hell of a good football game. Who cares about commercials and half-time shows I'm talking about American football AT ITS BEST.. Them Kansas City Chiefs are red hot and like him or not Patrick Mahomes is not only the best damn quarterback in the NFL but he truly is a class act, read up on him sometime, he's a good guy!

Not really a football fan, but it was one of those games that was worth watching. Evenly matched, not too much drama, not too much BS, just a good classy game. Well done Eagles and Chiefs!

Now I will say that the chiefs strategy at the end was good, but kinda bs. How do we win? Hog the ball!

Yep. They all do it if the score is within a touchdown and the clock is a min. or less. Running the clock out, taking a knee after a snap or using up time outs all eats up the clock. I'm not a follower but it was a good game.

What superbowl game? Was that this weekend? Oh well, like a GAF anymore!!

Halftime, I turned over to watch Gun Smoke. I don’t normally watch nfl, but the playoffs are usually pretty good and the SB not so. This one was pretty good. Kept waiting for Mahomes to trip on his ankle.

Huge football fan for 60 years, the last 5 I gave up. as my wife says, not about the game anymore. yesterday was prime example. was about B platform. just my $.02

Philadelphians Preemptively Burn City Down In Preparation For Winning Or Losing Super Bowl

Feb 12, 2023

PHILADELPHIA, PA — To prepare for the aftermath of either winning or losing a football game, the citizens of Philadelphia have decided to pre-emptively raze the city to the ground.

"One way or the other it's going to burn," said local man Dylan Timms. "With Philly, you never have to wonder."

After nearly twenty years without a Super Bowl appearance, the city of Philadelphia is about two-thirds rebuilt from their last Super Bowl appearance. "Philly has such a tough reputation, everyone thinks it's so run-down," said long-time resident Macie Tapper. "What people don't understand is that the city was in pretty good shape before we torched it after our last Super Bowl win. Now, you might ask, why do we burn it down when we win? You might as well ask why the groundhog digs holes, or why the beaver builds dams. It's what Philadelphia does."

In addition to burning the buildings down, the city has planned ahead by greasing every single light pole in the city with thousands of gallons of high-grade lubricant. "Yeah, we got a few funny looks when we ordered thirty-thousand pounds of petroleum jelly," said City Manager Dave Rubeck. "But who will be laughing when people break their legs slipping off of light poles? Me. I'll be laughing."

At publishing time, Kansas City was reportedly preparing for the game's aftermath by grilling some meat and drinking beer, like a normal city.

I watched the fourth quarter, which was a really great part of the game to watch, as things turned out! The 4Q is all that matters, anyway. Binge-watched some of my favorite YT content providers most of Sunday. Had far more fun doing that, versus watching all of the SB BS.

Next up, the Daytona 500. It's been the sole NA$CAR race I watch for nearly ten years. I quit NA$CAR for all their nonsense. Dale Senior has been rolling in his grave so often, his body probably looks like a burrito wrap.

Kelce’s after the game comment was right. Not one of the talking heads admitted they were wrong about predicting the outcome. They just clammed up. Gutless. He called them out twice.

what the hell is the black national anthem?
Say so at the risk of being "canceled", it is now the way to acknowledge the Negro Felon League for the master piece **** show that takes place every year at this time. This Country is now so FOOKED UP that I seriously doubt it will ever recover. One of the reasons as to why I not longer watch NFL football and have been doing so for a number of years now...cr8crshr/Bill :usflag: :usflag: :usflag:

I really feel for you with that mind set ya got. You have been vexed by the very curse that has befallen the NFL and its very existence. American Football??? No longer what it once was when it truly was an American Game...But go ahead and revel in your delusional grandure as a Chiefs fan as at some point like all before them that have shown what you call "greatness" will fall by the wayside and assume the bottom as all teams eventually do...Just sayin is all and enjoy your celebrated victory. Ne I would rather just enjoy some KC BBQ over any hype that comes from it,,,cr8crshr/Bill :usflag: :usflag: :usflag:

I never tuned in to it as I had the WM Golf tourny on for the entire afternoon. Having been a player in the past of the game and now not able to from physical issues, I still watch regularly when I can. Yet even that game is rapidly becoming a joke of a competition what with all the tabloid sports journalism now being in vogue these days. Other than that sp[ort, Baseball will always be my #1 go to sport regardless...cr8crshr/Bill:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::usflag::usflag::usflag:

I switched over to the Puppy Bowl XIX (reair) at half time...

much better performance, for a great cause too

I don't like where the NFL has gone, but at least not the
Colan Peckerneck Kneeling & anti-Military Anti-Anthem Anti-USA Flag crap
of the Unions/Members (NFL Commissioner Goodell) push for 3 years prior

Ok to the game;
great comeback by the Chiefs "yet again"
I hate to admit KC QB Patrick Mahomes is a phenom
League MVP & Super Bowl MVP too...
It's a total team effort, from locker room boys to towel boy/gals
a total team effort, not just him, but they recognized him
& Andy Reid is a great coach
(I can't believe, that came out in type even)
But they proved it & won the game, the pinnacle of the NFL
which players & teams or coaching is/are all judged by...
Don't get me wrong;
I'm no Chiefs fan
, I'm a Raiders fan, I bleed Silver & Black
been a rough decade/s for US loyal fans, of the Raiders
or the NFL for that matter...
I'm programmed to dislike the KC Chiefs, our AFC West foes,
but I give credit where credit is due too...

Almost all the talking heads were picking & saying the Philly Eagle will win
that Eagles were/are still the dominant & the better team, yada yada yada...

At least it was a good game...

I sort of feel bad/sort of sorry for the Eagles fans
(our Rebel here too :poke: ),
& Eagles players/Staff, they played a great game, just came up short...
Someone has to lose...
There's always next year, let us see if they can comeback & are as great as
all the talking heads claim they are...

I have to admit, I really got sick of hearing constantly about
(they jinxed him :poke: ) Philly Eagles QB Jalen Hurts :blah::blah::blah:
almost think; 'it was what sealed their fate'...

or the 1st time 2 black NFL QB squared off in the SB angle
they all were pushing on every sport commentary
false "narrative as well"

I'll quit before it goes too far off course

Go Raiders

I always wondered what "NFL" stood for.
Thanks

Jerry Glanville former Atlanta Falcons HC
& Arena Football, XFL & USFL Football Leagues, probably others too
also former Houston Oilers ***. coach & Head Coach
Winston Cup NASCAR (& ARCA) Team Driver/Owner,
among other stuff like several College NCAA head coaching jobs

He coined the phrase;
Not For Long, because of the officials/refs' bias bad calls, for favored teams
that he wouldn't be around very long

much more user-friendly on a family-viewed/oriented forum

I'm a baseball fan too but it's getting to the point where it's not so much....

Well I seem to have a different opinion to most others on this forum with regards to the game...maybe because I live overseas.
I really enjoyed the game. Used to be a huge Bears fan back in the mid 80's, Mike Ditka, Jim McMahon, Walter Payton, Richard Dent, Mike Singletary, The Fridge...all these names come to mind. We used to watch all the games back then, I remember watching the Broncos' 98 yard drive against the Browns in the AFC Championship match. My brother was a big Cowboys fan, Tom Landry coaching, Tony Dorsett RB and then Herschel Walker.
I did watch a game about 5 years ago and thought it was spoiled - too many flags, slow motion reviews on every play almost, game was really slow and boring. Penalties for hard hits, I thought it was rubbish.
BUT
They seem to have cleaned up the game, made it more like it was in the 80's. The game went quickly, hardly any flags, just a couple of play reviews, some huge hits - it was great. I was surprised how both teams play the Shotgun formation on nearly every play, and the running game wasn't used as much as I remember, but otherwise it was like nothing had changed.
I'd taped the game so fast forwarded through the halftime show - watched a bit of it and it seemed ok.

I think if a lot of you guys put politics and pre-conceived ideas of how you think it is to one side and watched the game, you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Isn't that the way the pig skin game is played. If you don't have the ball it's kind of hard to do anything worth while.
