You got your best girl by your side. Money in your pocket. Car is running the best it ever has. So you reach over to turn on your radio for some cruising tunes (I know the rumble of the engine might be enough but play along) And what song coming on the radio would make it the perfect moment for you? You know make the stars and Gods smile down on you and for that moment make it an unforgettable memory?
For me I think it would be The Grateful Dead "Truckin"
You?

Thomas

How about,,,"Back in the saddle again" by Aerosmith?
Yeah... kinda corny but it sorta fits. I also like almost any popular Rock song from the mid 70s.

Motown. 60's right out of the birthplace of the Coronet. Detroit, Michigan. Spin that thumbwheel at the end of the assembly line and you get the Tops, Temps, Rhonettes, Marvin and Smokey to name a few. Our Culture. American.

Good idea for a thread and good songs listed above for when you are in that mellowed out mood.

And if not so mellowed out....

George Thorogood & The Destroyers - Bad To The Bone
Sammy Hagar - I Can't Drive 55
Neil Young - Rockin' In The Free World

Well sometimes when on the way to a cruise it starts a downpour. Then you go back home, sit back on couch & listen to "Hello Walls" by Faron Young. Im just a party-pooper aren't I.

How about:

Aerosmith- Sweet Emotion
Foghat- Slow Ride

From a time when you could buy a 6 pak setup in a junkyard and a used 4 speed Road Runner off the backlot of a dealership.

Little old lady from Pasadena with her Superstock Dodge or any CCR song. Ron

1st Green Onions, by Booker T & the MG's, then almost any Beach Boys or Jan & Dean car song, then AC/DC's Highway to Hell among others, many Ted Nugent or Aerosmith songs, but the rocker stuff & great beat, makes me go too fast thou....

Sonny has about 4 0r 5 hundred tunes on my I pod ( cruise night music )
....BUT NO:eusa_snooty:BEATLES.

Amen Sonny!

As far as the song goes (and substituting my best guy of course since my bat doesn't swing that way :D), it's Highway Star ... so obnoxiously loud through those Infinitis that I can even hear it myself over the exhaust.

How about " Can't Get Enough of Your Love" Foghat.

Hotel California-Eagles for those hot summer nights when the sun has just dropped over the horizon
Stairway to Heaven-Led Zeppelin after dark while watching the submarine races

What would really be great for night cruises is to find a copy of Beeker Street shows. http://windsofchangekc.com/index_1.html
If you are not familiar with the Beeker Street, check it out. As a special bonus the sound clip on the site has the album cut of D.O.A. by Bloodrock. very cool!
