NHRA World Finals, Tulsa. 1968 I believe.
Several, the ‘67 is in the Mosely collection 5 miles from me.Besides the 70 Charger are there any other known surviving Dick Landy cars?
I remember his Charger here in the area back then also, maybe at the Buffalo Autorama ? Jan-Cen is still here too, another shop it may have visited was Gor-Den Automotive ? "Blast" from the "Past" !!!When I was a kid…a long time ago…the first race car I ever saw was from Dick Landy. Might be the coronet in post #3. It was at a speed shop in Buffalo NY called Jan-Cen I think. It was parked out front on display for something.
I remember seeing a non altered wheel base version of the 65 car, that someone tried to pass off as his original 65 car.I remember his Charger here in the area back then also, maybe at the Buffalo Autorama ? I remember seeing an ad with him selling some of the 67 and 68 cars. I also remember seeing an ad for his street driven 70 Challenger R/T being posted for sale in the back of Hot Rod magazine.Several, the ‘67 is in the Mosely collection 5 miles from me.

That's the Steve Lisk Challenger, with a tunnel ram Hemi and Lenco 4 speed. He raced the Sudden Death Mustang ll built by Jack Roush and won 2 out of 3 times, I think. Both 9 second street cars. I think Mike Fons was also involved with the build. Steve Lisk's father owned a trucking company, so Steve had the funds to build the car.Dick said, this young kid named Steve walked into my shop and said to me,I want you to take my Challenger and build the chassis exactly like your Pro Stock Challenger.

Dick built the chassis,Mike sorted the car out and made it perform correctly. I guess you could say Mike essentially tore the car down to the chassis. That's the Steve Lisk Challenger, with a tunnel ram Hemi and Lenco 4 speed.
