Went out to Willow Springs again, and as usual it was fun passing modern cars. The caveat to this is that while I did pass a couple Vettes, Ferraris, Mustangs and even a modern 392 Challenger, I was in the novice group so my friend could take pictures (we normally run in the same group).

There were lots of people who tracked me down on the paddock to see the car, and to tell me how much they enjoyed seeing it on the track. One guy told me he was rooting for me to pass all the modern muscle and sports cars out there. While these cars are usually found on the dragstrip, it was funny to see how people reacted to seeing it on the road course! Even my own friends taking the pics commented on how surprised they were watching the car go around the track.

Modifications include: Mickey Thompson Street Comp Tires, Weld Racing Wheels (18 inch), Hellwig Sway Bars, QA1 Front Suspension & Adjustable Shocks, MP Brakes, FAST EZ-EFI, TTi Headers, Moser Engineering 8.75 Rearend, MSD Distributor/Coil/Wires/6AL, and a new Be Cool Radiator. The new radiator actually dropped my temp about 40-50 degrees on the track - Saturday morning first run: 220-225º, Sunday morning first run: 170-180º. After the day warmed up, I never really got over 180º on the track, last fall I was running upwards of 240º.

Enjoy!

By the way, the passing was done out of courtesy - they let me pass on the only two straights because I was catching them in the turns... so it wasn't about top speed, where they clearly had me, it was about the handling. I have a video I'll post up later.

Thats cool! The pic of your level Plymy in the turn , would make a good Mopar advertisement!..........................MO

It's lots of fun to take a car out that most people don't expect can corner, and listen to their reactions. The guys at Hellwig love seeing this... I have their sway bars on the car.

That is fantastic. Wish I had the extra funds to do that to my 65 Coronet. I love the look and the pics in the corners. Looks like it handles really sweet!

Thanks, it does handle really well. We have a little bit of camber and caster set up, and the tires grip pretty well. The Hellwig sway bars and QA1 adjustable shocks help a great deal, too. The people at the track were great, they really enjoyed seeing it in action. I'll post a video soon.
