I would think the solution should be very dependent on what your cleaning ie what materials it is composed of and what the contamination is your trying to remove. I myself would use liquid carb cleaner as that shouldn’t adversely affect carb parts. I look at sonic cleaners as an mechanical aid to the normal process of soaking parts and scrubbing by hand.

Just got my cleaner today. Unboxing pics. Gonna get my good spray gun in there first. Will try to do a before and after.
Not sure it will be done in the kitchen even though my wife is fine with it lol.

So I used the sonic cleaner for the first time today see before and after pictures of the parts. Given these parts had dried latex I thought should be simple to get them clean. I used water with some Zep degreaser. Ran it at 150F 20 mins. In the kitchen lol wife is great about it.
Parts did not come out clean needed to be hand wiped down which was easy. Orfices were not bad. Overall after I wiped down the parts I was happy. The machine loosened up all the paint.I don’t know why I expected the paint to completely dissolve into solution but laytex is soft and plastic like. If it were petroleum based and I used a solvent for like a carb I think it would be a different story. I’ll be trying that soon for my motorcycle carbs when I get working on that.
