A 70 Coronet should always be viewed from this angle only.
Actually, I'd recently seen a pic of a black Bee, or R/T, with the bumpers also painted black... and it really transformed the look of the car ! In a sense, it camoflaged the "look" of two chromed slanted eyes into a sleek, sinister appearance. It may have had the dual-slot hood, which looks better IMO than the dual-scoop hood.Ok, you asked for it. The 70 Coronet had got the most hideous front end of any 66-70 B-body. The best thing to happen to that front end was when Chrysler engineers chainsawed thegrille and bumper off and grafted on the Superbird nose cone.
That all said as I do think that the only way the 70 looks good is when it’s painted black and viewed in the pitch black darkness of a cave.
1st thought: That engine bay is noy very tidy.
Seems to be one of the better deals on the market recently. Assume that's a crate HEMI from the air cleaner. What do you guys think? See anything problematic right away? Other than the ugly red, I mean.
It's harder and harder not to if you want one nowadays. Just look at this frankensteined mess on ebay here:Leaving the debate about the '70 styling off the table, I concur with Wayne. Two years ago I sold a numbers matching Hemi car that was far nicer than this vehicle. The deal closed for just a bit more than this asking price. The level of this restoration doesn't justify the price, IMO. At 20K lower, it looks like a fairly decent driver, if that's what you're after. I've owned a few b bodies of that caliber, and they can be more fun than a higher end example. Just don't overpay.
Red. Ugly? Watchew talkin' 'bout, Willis?

This mess reached 50K on ebay and they didn't take it. Back on BIN for 75K. They're insane. It's going to be one of those cars that sells and reappears over and over when buyers see it's actual condition or do some research. It's harder and harder not to if you want one nowadays. Non matching dash, R/T doors, crate 440, no fender tag, bondo cracking around doors already, going through a reseller that has never even seen the car, and they want 75K. Bidding already touching 50K. I agree with you, but this is the world we are living in. Check out the link above I posted for the V Code Paul is selling. An absolute amateur shitshow done by blind children and he's at 65K.

This comment cracked me up quite a bit. So much so that I shared it with a fellow Mopar friend of mine, who was away on vacation at the time. My friend gave this post card to me upon returning home from vacation.......the 70 looks good is when it’s painted black and viewed in the pitch black darkness of a cave.
