Speedometer Gear Short to Long Shaft

I need a 32 tooth speedo gear due to switching ring gears and tire size. The 904 I have came with a 27 tooth gear with a long shaft. I also have an A518 that came with 32 tooth gear, but it is the short shaft type for the electric speed sensor. I would like to just swap the 32 gear onto the long shaft.

Has anyone tried disassemble a speedo gear off the shaft?

I would like to know if it is threaded or splined or how the gear is held on the shaft so I can disassemble.

I think it is cost effective & a lot easier to buy a 32-tooth gear for the A904 transmission. Maybe try Brewer's or ebay?
