Spent the weekend in the hospital

Yeah that was fun. Wednesday I started having numbness in my left arm and figured I just slept on it wrong and it would go away. It didn’t and found myself in the emergency room Saturday morning. I give them credit they had me in fast and hooked up to all the gadgets. Had a cat scan, MRI, and multiple ultrasounds.

Doctor said it was a TIV, Transient Ischemic Attack.or mini stroke. They found one vein in my neck with about 30% blockage. They figure if it is there, there will also be blockage in other areas. The ticker tested good thank god. Now I have a meeting with the vascular surgeon to get this addressed. And now the bills start…

Take care of yourself everyone!
Did you get a CAC test?

I will have to check the paperwork. Likely did.

A few years back I got tired of the hassle of renewing my meds through my doctor at the time (cholesterol, blood pressure and a daily aspirin). The result for me was a stroke. I was told that I could have avoided the stroke if I had just taken the aspirin which is again part of my daily regimen. Stick to the meds for your best shot at longevity @T2R9 ! Glad you got on it and they got it figured out.

So glad everything worked out and hope your tests and treatments go well from here! I go in for a 'proactive' echocardiogram next week, strongly believe multiple Covid infections and 3 'shots' have done no favors to my heart. Ugh.

Sorry to hear that Jeff. Glad you caught it and went to the hospital. Lots of us as we get older are stubborn and think we can sleep things off.. Hope to see ya At Carlisle!

Well back here again. This time to fix the problem. Had a stint put in the carotid artery this morning. Here till tomorrow and hopefully never again for these issues. Light duty for a while but I am sure I can find light duty stuff that needs to be done on the cars!

glad it worked out ........ I had one installed 8 years ago, and don't even know it's there, I was back full speed in a matter of days ...... you'll be fine!

Glad it all went well Jeff, hope you feel better.

Dang Jeff I hope you’re feeling better. We must take care of ourselves as we age. I have an appointments on Tuesday for an ultrasound on my carotid artery’s, I have to be cleared by my cardiologist so I can have my colonoscopy done. Take care bud. I’ll be in touch with you later about what we’re discussing in the PM.

Speedy recovery Jeff. Let Mark take some of the work off your shoulders!!

Get well soon Jeff. Hospitals and doctors suck! I had enough of it for one year. Dr's office called and wanted me to take one more test and I replied with "I'm done this year with Dr.s". She said I don't blame you.

Glad they were able to help you.
Please do everything they recommend.

where did they go in? I have a coronary stent, they went in through my groin. 3 years ago they scoped it, but were able to enter through my wrist. They didn't do that 8 years ago........ the biggest issue/risk is popping the plug they put in the hole ; so take it easy

Best wishes for a speedy recovery FBBO brother!
You have a body guy to support!

Was what is called TCAR. Installed a bypass from the neck to the groin area, then went in just above the collar bone to do the install. Neck is pretty sore right now.

I had a heart test years ago where they went in through the groin. The test went well and the doctor said to me afterwards, aren't you happy? I said sure, but that means all of this was for nothing.
