What a great turnout we had this past weekend for the Daytona Turkey Run. I know there are many members, even some here in Florida, who aren't familiar with the event. Just to be clear, this isn't a Mopar specific show like you'll find at Don Garlit's event in Ocala. While I believe there are many more Mopars overall, you'll have to sort through the Chevrolets & Fords to find them.

What it is, is anywhere from 5,000 - 6,000 classic & custom cars in one place, inside the Daytona International Speedway ("Daytona 500"). This is the largest car show & swap meet in the United States. After the show, you'll see classic cars virtually everywhere on the streets in Daytona. I've been going to this event for ten years now, and this year was the largest turnout ever.

If anyone is interested in attending the event in March, we can get a small group area going. I'll be cooking both breakfast & lunch for Friday & Saturday at the show. Sunday will be breakfast at the show and we normally go to Steve's Famous Diner in Atlantic Beach (about 15-minutes from the speedway) for lunch after.

The only thing you'll need to bring would be your chairs. As I mentioned, I'll have canopies, water, soda, and everything that goes along with that.

If you want a hotel, I would book them early. Our resort was completely booked on Friday & Saturday.

Seems like a good time, I'll check my sons race schedule. We are only 4 hours away....

Great, we are already looking to book our hotel. It's busy, so if you are planning to go, it may be a good idea to book a hotel (that's refundable) soon.

I was there all day last Friday - could not see it all in one day!

I live in Ormond Beach let me know when you get in town.

Making a plan to come check this show out. Can I get some feedback on which hotel / part of town Mopars are hanging out? Looking at beach side of Raceway, don't know the area, yet ...
Thanks -L-

What are the best days? Friday & Saturday or Saturday & Sunday if you had to choose?

Thanks!
