This guy told me this morning that he was coming.....
Instructions handed out at Park. Tons of cars go! Rock Shop stop is the best. Coffee, beer, and a pee stop.Anyone know the route that will be taken on the cruise to Malibu? Destination in Malibu? How many cars usually go?
Roadside repair #1 completed…center support for hood scoop finally cracked all the way through and through. Could see the scoop distorting at 8000 ft elevation with mountain winds blowing. Thank God for Gorilla tape. Not pretty but it will keep it together for the 1000 mile round trip. If I were gonna be there this year I would have to track you down & buy you a beer... Just the fact your driving the Pickle deserves a beer & the roadside repair pushes it to another level...Roadside repair #1 completed…center support for hood scoop finally cracked all the way through and through. Thanks for the tips on the permanent repair/reinforcement! I need to do something similar it seems. No biggie, it’s expected. I’m told this pickle car was raced back in the day. I’m sure it has been lifted off by the top of the scoop in the last half century along with some 120 MPH blasts down the track.Adding this as it may be useful.... On repairing the Sixpack scoop... Back in the 70's I had a Sixpack scoop on my 70 Charger... It was the typical aftermarket flimsy POS.. But before attaching it to the hood I had reinforced the scoop on the inside with glass resin & matting, plus I had welded a support for that exact area of the scoop the cracked on your car out of 10 Gauge steel fence wire in an H shape laying sideways & glassed it into the scoop...
End of the day the Charger should never have had a scoop but it was very solid & I had done a pretty good job of glassing it to the hood
I think I saw you out front of the Air Tel.Roadside repair #1 completed…center support for hood scoop finally cracked all the way through and through.
