Stage V Hemi replacement head vs Custom head

I have Mopar (Edelbrock) heads that flowed 426 (no pun intended) @ .800 on my 528" Hemi with 10.5:1, street driven and makes slightly more that on motor on pump gas , more on race fuel and a ton more on both kits. So, your combo is definitely possible.

Ok, so you make a little more than 850 on pump gas? What size cam did you go with? Has it ever been down the track?
Yes and yes. Can't tell no more. We do alot of grudge racing around here.

Cam is a huge custom nitrous grind so kind of a pooch on motor, (sort of) as my buddies say. The convertor and on nitrous it really wakes up on spray.

wont be spraying it, just N/A deal. I was thinking 280/286@50, but i'm not sure whats needed with the hemi head.

I think a stage V or even a ported edelbrock from modern will get it done on that size engine with your compression and the right cam. I’m shooting for 800 on mine. We will soon see. 548, 11:1 street build.

I now have the stage v heads from Tim Banning and they flow a little better than yours in the low lift, but not as good as yours at the upper lifts. The cam you have in your 548 looks like a very stout cam. How well does it run, any time slips?

not yet, I’m probably gonna dyno it. Haven’t decided if I’m running it with the cross ram or the barton single. Either way I have some grinding to do on an intake. Motor it’s self is ready.. I’ve been side tracked playing with my dads dart. Had it out at monster mopar over last weekend. It’s starting to come around.

Nice Dart. Pete at Best Machine just told me he made 800hp with a 10.5:1 572 Hemi with those Edelbrock heads. I like that Milodon chain cover. Think ill get one for my combo.

it’s nice, took me a bit to figure it out but once I did I was sold! I’ll probably dyno it at best. They’re about the only ones that will have the dyno headers.

It means gas (petrol) that you buy at your local gas (petrol) station. Usually the highest octane in USA 91 to 93 octane is the highest.

Did your heads have helicoils in the spark plug threads? I was completely disappointed in Edelbrock for that.

I see you have a 3* split, like mine. 275/[email protected] on 110. Will be 11.7 or 12:1 depending on gasket. I have the stage V 2x4 intake, but am now looking at going Indy tunnel ram since that is what i currently have on my wedge street car. I really like T rams on the street. Working on the internal oiling system now. Thats a bit of a head scratcher, but i'm figuring it out with some help from the guys over on Moparts.
