I finally have sorted this carb so that it starts, runs strongly, and doesn't spill any fuel. Pressure set at 4-5, fuel in transparent filter, but...if I accelerate up the hill to my house, the engine slows, and even dies. It is then difficult to start, despite fuel in filter. I don't think vapor lock is the problem, as the temp here now in PDX is 40! Help!!

Is the filter plastic,(that you can see through) or metal? I had a problem like that one way back when, which turned out the filter was starving the carb on fairly long uphills but looked visibly okay. The engine ran fine otherwise.

Thanks for replies. Fuel pump is brand new, tank new, lines except pipe to tank new, checked float levels at least 4 times! Maybe I shall change out the fuel filter and see if that makes a difference.
